No "speech to text" for Mac

I wasted my money on this product. The whole point for buying this was I thought that I could do the following:
1. Quickly convert speech to text
2. Use a foot pedal for pausing/playing the audio as I edit it in Word.

But...
1. Speech to text is only for Windows (why bother with a Mac version that doesn't include this?)
2. The software doesn't recognise my Olympus foot switch.

Instead, I'm going to play the audio through my Mac (my foot switch works for "Music" and "Youtube" etc) and use Word's built in dictation.
